Sebastián Yatra was born under the name of Sebastián Obando Giraldo, on October 15, 1994, in the city of Medellín, Colombia. With only five years of age he moved with his family to the United States, where he began his musical career. At age 12 he began writing songs and singing them.

During his adolescence, Sebastián Yatra took piano, guitar and vocal technique classes, in order to improve his skills.

The road to fame

In 2013, Sebastián Yatra decided to launch his musical career formally. The first single that was released was The Psychologist, with which he succeeded in countries such as the United States, Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador.

The Psychologist is a theme that mixes pop with reggae, with which he achieved some notoriety within the Latino public.

The following year, Sebastián Yatra published his second single entitled Para Olvidar, which quickly positioned itself in all the stations in his native country.

In 2015 his great success would arrive: the song How to Look at You, a ballad that captivated the female audience. The issue was ranked number 2 in the National Latino Top.

The Colombian artist won several nominations for awards such as The HEAT of 2016, where he won the first statuette of his career.

From that moment, the musical career of Sebastián Yatra began to be unstoppable. In July 2016, he released his simple Traitor, which was a resounding success. The song won first place in the stations of countries such as the United States, Colombia, Spain, Portugal, Venezuela, among others.

This is the story of a rich widowed merchant who had three daughters. Two of them, the two oldest daughters, were presumptuous and vain, and the youngest, whom they called Bella for their beauty, was, however, humble and kind. All had always suitors willing to marry them. But while the two older sisters rejected all the candidates contemptuously, since they longed to marry a nobleman, Bella received them and talked with them, even if she politely rejected them. A stroke of bad fortune caused the merchant to lose all his wealth, so all suitors disappeared, since money was the only reason to marry such women. Bella, however, continued to receive proposals, but continued to reject them. One day, the news came that one of the merchant's ships had arrived in port with merchandise. His two oldest daughters asked him to bring them jewelry and dresses, but Bella, his youngest daughter, told him that only with a rose would he make her happy.

Returning from the port, the merchant is lost in the forest and finds refuge in a castle that was nearby. In that castle he eats and rests, and the next day, just after taking a rose from the beautiful garden, a horrid beast surprises him and forces him to apologize.

The merchant begs to be able to see his daughters one last time, to which the beast responds that he can leave to see them once more, but in return, he will have to bring one of them to take his place. The merchant returns home and explains what happened to his three daughters, after which his youngest daughter Bella offers to take the place of his father, to the delight of his two older sisters and despair of his elderly father. Bella reminds her father that the promises have to be fulfilled, and that if she hadn't asked for a rose, nothing would have happened.
